Out On Screen
Out On Screen, the Vancouver Queer Film Festival and the Out In Schools program represent the best of the queer community whether it's professional standards, creative exploration, progressive dialogue or simply throwing a good party. Out On Screen proudly embodies all that is good and exciting about the queer community in Vancouver and beyond.
What began in 1988 as a small film festival has evolved into a year-round multi-faceted queer arts organization with the following core programs:
Vancouver Queer Film FestivalCelebrating the best in independent queer cinema the Vancouver Queer Film Festival is Vancouver's second largest film festival and the largest queer arts event in Western Canada. The Festival hosts a variety of performances, workshops, panels, parties and more, facilitating a unique community space for 11 days each August.
Out In SchoolsThis youth education program brings independent queer film into BC high schools to initiate discussions with students about school safety, homophobia and bullying.
